about this project

Our client sought to extend and modernize their 1930s family home to better accommodate their evolving needs. By extending the ground floor, we were able to create a spacious basement that seamlessly opens onto the garden.

The project began with the demolition of the existing kitchen and sun-lounge, followed by meticulous excavation and underpinning of the house. We addressed significant groundwater issues before laying a reinforced concrete slab. Subsequently, we installed a two-storey steel frame to support the existing structure, allowing for the safe removal of a large double-storey chimney stack.

Throughout the build, we employed constant temporary works and supports to ensure safety and minimize any movement of the property, all while the client continued to reside in their home.
